Confronting Fear and Building Confidence for Growth

Ashlee Stratton, a graduate of Utah Valley University in English and Literature, shared insights focused on overcoming fear, building confidence, and taking meaningful action toward personal and professional growth.

She began by immediately addressing one of the most common challenges individuals face: themselves. Ashlee explained that fear, doubt, and hesitation often become the primary barriers to progress, emphasizing that growth requires confronting—not avoiding—those internal obstacles. Her message centered on the idea that “Belief + Skillset = Major Results,” reinforcing that both mindset and capability must work together to create meaningful outcomes.

“A Cubed Method”: A Practical Framework for Taking Action

A central framework of her lecture was the “A Cubed Method,” a three-step process designed to help individuals move through fear and into action. The steps—Allow, Attention, and Action—guided students through recognizing their fears, becoming intentional about where they focus their energy, and ultimately taking steps forward despite discomfort. Ashlee encouraged students to apply this framework by setting specific goals that push them outside their comfort zones.

Throughout the lecture, Ashlee used stories and real-life examples to illustrate how these principles apply in everyday decision-making and long-term goal setting. She emphasized that fear should not be ignored but acknowledged openly as part of the growth process. By doing so, individuals can better understand their reactions and respond with intention rather than avoidance.

Real-Life Insights and Lasting Impact on Personal and Professional Development

Ashlee also highlighted that progress comes through consistent practice. The “A Cubed Method,” she explained, is not a one-time solution but a tool that becomes more effective over time as individuals continue to apply it in different situations.

In a unique and engaging moment, Ashlee invited her husband and son onstage to briefly share their own entrepreneurial experiences. This added a personal dimension to the lecture and helped reinforce the real-world application of the concepts she discussed.
