The Project Climbing Wall is located in the Student Life and Wellness Center, Second Floor, SL203

Pricing

Individual

FREE for students taking 10 or more credit hours and those with a paid gym membership

For individuals without a SLWC gym membership

  • SLWC Day Pass Guest fee $5
  • Climbing Wall Fee $5

Group

  • Tier 1- UVU Student groups, clubs: $10 per person, minimum of $100
  • Tier 2- Campus departments, UVU affiliated organizations: $150 up to 10 people, Each additional person $10
  • Tier 3- off campus groups, birthday parties, etc.: $15 per person, minimum of $150

All groups need to give 2 weeks advance notice. Group rates included the wall for 2 hours, harness and shoe rental, and a designated staff.

Procedures

Participant Access

The SLWC Climbing Wall is open to Utah Valley University students, staff, and faculty who have a membership to the SWLC. It will also be available to those who purchase a guest day pass. Guest day passes are available for $5. Personal climbing gear is allowed but will be subject to a climbing wall staff inspection.

Due to capacity restrictions the climbing wall will be operated on a first come, first serve basis. Once the facility reaches capacity we will ask guests to wait or come back at another time.

In addition participants must:

  • Read and sign Agreement to Participate/Awareness of Risk form.
  • Participate in an initial instructional orientation (Basics Clinic) or pass a belay check.
  • Read and sign Safety Policies and Rules Form.

Youth (Under 18)

  • All youth below the age of 18 must have a parent/guardian read and sign the Agreement to Participate/Awareness of Risk form.
  • Both parents/guardians and youth must sign the waiver.
  • An adult must accompany children younger than 16 years of at all times.
  • Children younger than 13 years of age will be designated as "Climber Only" (not eligible to belay) and must be accompanied by a registered Climbing Center parent / guardian.
  • Both child and parent/guardian must pay rental charge for equipment as necessary.
  • Wall staff will be present to monitor the safety and ensure guests are adhering to the policies and procedures, not to belay minors.
