Private Tutoring

Hiring a private tutor through SCUP for students K-16 in Utah County, is beneficial for individuals who need assistance in gaining confidence with difficult subjects, studying more effectively, and improving scores in the classroom.

All Private Tutoring takes place in the Fulton Library on UVU Campus.

How Tutoring Works

SCUP Tutors are qualified individuals that assist in understanding curriculum, developing study strategies, completing homework, and improving scores. Tutors do not provide curriculum, clients will need to provide materials for each tutoring session.

Work- Study Tutor Form

Spanish GED

UVU Spanish GED is for adults who are 18 years and older, it is not for high school students. The class is 100% in Spanish. It is held in person every Saturday 9:00 am – 12:00 pm, except on holiday weekends. An additional Social Studies class is offered from 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm, every Saturday. It takes place in the Liberal Arts Building, LA 105 & 106, on UVU campus.

The weekly class is free, however the Spanish GED is taken in 4 different sections. Each section is $30.00 to take at the UVU Testing Center. The four sections are: Math, Language Arts, Social Studies and Science. After a student passes the Math section of the GED, they have one year to finish the other three sections.

You can fill out the form from the link, but you are also welcome to stop by during class to meet the tutors and see the class in action. The classes usually start over at the beginning of each semester, but you can join at any time during the year. There is an advanced class and a beginning math class. All of the math information for the Math Section is covered in a year time period. One of our tutors explains the Spanish GED at this YouTube Link.
