About

The Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) program at Utah Valley University (UVU) prepares students to become certified occupational therapy assistants. Prospective students must complete all prerequisite courses before being accepted into the OTA program. Once admitted, students undertake four semesters of rigorous coursework, which includes a baccalaureate project and fieldwork (clinical) rotations. Graduates of the program are eligible to take the National Board Certification Exam to become credentialed and obtain their occupational therapy assistant license. Additionally, students earn a bachelor's degree, facilitating a seamless transition to a Master's (MSOT) or Doctorate (OTD) in occupational therapy from an accredited university. Admission to the OTA program is determined through a competitive application process.
