UVU is continuously making efforts in finding and establishing ways to operate using more sustainable and green methods, with our community in mind. Some of these efforts being having installed filtered drinking fountains that have a special spout for filling water bottles. There fountains display the number of plastic bottles that have been saved by using refillable bottles. Within the first few weeks of installation, 10,000 plastic bottles were saved!
For years now UVU has auctioned off slightly used to the community. This extends the useful life of the items and keeps them out of landfills.
As part of the presidential initiatives on campus, sustainability and recycling are a high priority on campus.
