Apply for Funding

Don’t know how to complete a grant application? For step-by-step instructions on how to apply for funding, please review the following video:

  • CapStone Projects are not eligible for funding.
  • Undergraduate Students with 150 or less, combined credit hours, may apply to the Office of Engaged Learning for consideration of financial support for their proposed research projects. 
  • Student awards are limited to one research grant (ie: URSCA or BoTs or TEELs) and one dissemination grant in an academic year. (Note: this limit applies to students regardless of wether they are the primary applicant or a co-applicant).
  • Students develop a research project, prepare and submit the grant application written in their own words and by the student, in a language suitable for a lay audience.
  • All applications are reviewed by the SCAC committee comprised of faculty and administration from each college at UVU.

Note: All application signatures must be completed by the deadline for the application to be submitted on time. Please plan accordingly by submitting the application for signature at least 1-2 weeks prior to the deadline and notifying the signee's of the pending application needing their signature. All signatures are dependent on the one prior and can only be completed in succession.

Research Funding

URSCA Research

Undergraduate Research Scholarly and Creative Activities (URSCA) is a new undergraduate research program at UVU. Upper-division students work with faculty mentors to conduct in-depth research or creative work related to their chosen field of study. This program provides funding to support completion of these projects.

One per student per academic year.

TEELS

Deadline March 23, 2023

The D. Clark and Pam Turner Endowment for Engaged Learning in STEM Research (TEELS) are designed to support student/faculty research in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) disciplines. This mentored student research may be conducted by students in any major, but should have a focus mentor in the physical sciences, health, math, or technology departments...

Lifetime limit of one per student.

CRFS

CRFS supports and provides funding for UVU faculty, staff and mentored students to carry out investigations in natural and cultural history, place-based learning, and other scholarly and creative activities that explore the Colorado Plateau and are consistent with the CRFS mission.

Present Your Research with Dissemination Funding

Note: All signatures must be completed by the deadline for the application to be submitted on time. All signatures are dependent on the one prior and can only be completed in succession.

URSCA Dissemination 

Undergraduate Research Scholarly and Creative Activities (URSCA) provides students the opportunity to present their research at discipline specific conferences. Students who have worked with faculty mentors in conducting research or creative work related to their chosen field of study may apply for funding to present their findings after the completion of the project.  Funding is available on a rolling basis.

One per student per academic year.

NCUR 

The National Conference for Undergraduate Research (NCUR), is dedicated to promoting undergraduate research, scholarship, and creative activity in all fields of study by sponsoring an annual conference for students to present their work.

UCUR

The mission of the Utah Conference for Undergraduate Research (UCUR), is to promote undergraduate research, scholarship, and creative activity, done with the mentorship of a faculty member or others, through an annual conference.
