Freshman Convocation is your first big moment at Utah Valley University when new Wolverines come together to kick off their college journey. Get ready to meet UVU’s leaders, connect with other new students, and feel the excitement of becoming part of our campus community. This is your official welcome to the Wolverine family — don’t miss it!
All first-time, first-year students starting at UVU in summer or fall 2026 need to attend.
You're not the only one invited to Freshman Convocation! We consider your family members to be new Wolverines, too, and we want them to attend with you. The Freshman Convocation program will be immediately followed by a BBQ outside the UCCU Center catered by Wallaby's. You and your family will all receive a FREE and delicious dinner!
Please RSVP so that we have enough BBQ to feed all of our hungry Wolverines and their families!
After the BBQ, join your fellow Wolverines at the Women's Soccer Game at the UCCU Stadium! Join us after Freshman Convocation on August 17 at 7:30 pm.
Approximately 5,000 people attend Freshman Convocation. There will be a high volume of vehicles entering campus, especially at the main entrance on University Parkway. Please allow yourself an additional 25 minutes of travel time to reach the UCCU Center, find parking, and walk to the venue. For example, if it normally takes you 15 minutes to travel to UVU and find parking, then plan on at least 40 minutes travel and parking time for Freshman Convocation.
We ask that all freshmen be in their seats by 5:45 pm so that the show can begin on-time at 6 pm.
Please be aware that there are multiple entry points to UVU. The traffic circle off of University Parkway will back up quickly. Instead, plan to access campus from the east side at 400 West or from the north side at 1200 West, then follow the signs to Freshman Convocation parking.
