About Ray

Ray Pickup is President and Chief Executive Officer of WCF Insurance. WCF is Utah's premier workers’ compensation insurance carrier, providing insurance to more than 20,000 Utah companies. WCF was established in 1917 and is owned by its policyholders. WCF offers its customers a variety of services including safety and loss control, claims administration, medical case management, vocational rehabilitation, and fraud investigations. Beginning in 2016, WCF began to offer insurance to businesses in Idaho, Nevada, Arizona and California. WCF is rated A (Excellent) by the A.M. Best Company. Ray currently serves as a member of the Salt Lake Chamber Board of Governors, as a member of the Executive Board and as chair of the finance committee; as a member of the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees of the Economic Development Corporation of Utah (EDCUtah) and as chair of the audit committee; as a member of the Advisory Board of the Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute at the University of Utah; and, as past-President of the American Association of State Compensation Insurance Funds. Ray graduated from Brigham Young University with a B.S. degree in Accounting and with a Masters of Accountancy. He is a Certified Public Accountant. Ray is a life-long resident of Utah. Ray and his wife, Janet, are the parents of five children and six grandchildren. His hobbies include golf, fly fishing, hiking and spending time with his family.
