Theatre Arts - Theatre Design and Production Emphasis, B.F.A.

Requirements

The BFA Theatre Production and Design Emphasisprovides conservatory-style training that allows greater depth of focus in costume, lighting and scenic design and construction, sound design, stage management, and technical direction. It requires portfolio submission and interview prior to admission. The degree includes hands-on intensive work in theatre design, culminating in designing for a main season department production. The emphasis prepares students for professional careers as designers and technicians.

  1. Completion of a minimum of 126 semester credits; a minimum of 40 credits must be upper division.
  2. Overall grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  3. Residency hours--minimum of 30 credit hours through course attendance at UVU, with at least 10 hours earned in the last 45 hours.
  4. Completion of GE and specified departmental requirements.
  5. Successful completion of at least one Global/Intercultural course.
