Learning Circles are small communities of faculty and staff who meet on a regular basis during a single semester. Participation is voluntary, and faculty facilitators choose a particular book or set of articles on learning and teaching or professional development. Participants discuss the book during their sessions. There are five sessions. Participants must attend at least 3 sessions. All participants receive a Certificate of Participation for their Faculty Portfolio. Books are provided to each participant. Many learning circles are on Teams, but some may be in-person.
Starting the first week of the semester, on January 5, 2026, books can be picked up from the bookcase in FL 212 between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. We have a limited number of books. Only take a book if you can commit to attending most sessions; otherwise, the book must be returned. Joining late or picking up a book might result in not getting a copy.
To join the Learning Circle on Teams, select the "Join Teams". Open Teams and go to the Teams section to find the Learning Circle Group. Open the group, choose a session, and select "View meeting details." In the top left, select "Add to calendar." Repeat for each session.
For in-person learning circles, you will be sent an Outlook invite.

Wednesday @ 2 pm - 3 pm on the following dates: 9/16, 9/30, 10/21, 11/4, 11/18 Research is more fun with a group to support you. This research group is designed for those just starting a research project that could use some help navigating the UVU research processes. This group is for those who are moving from more applied research to academic research, those trying a new methodology, or those looking to brush up on research skills and knowledge. This group will be an opportunity to set goals, have people to exchange work with for edits, and discover more about methodological best practices. This is a wonderful group for someone wanting to start a research project but is not sure where to begin. Facilitated by Maria Blevins |
