The Melisa Nellesen Center for Autism is proud to share details for the annual UVU Autism Conference for 2026. Thank you for joining us, as we learn best practice approaches to build a community of belonging, together.

We are excited to announce that Dr. Christopher McDougle will be our keynote speaker. Each year, the conference offers a full day of breakout sessions centered on a specific theme.

2024 Dental Hygiene Field Trip Gallery

For seven years, the UVU Dental Hygiene program has partnered with the Melisa Nellesen Center for Autism to provide autism-specific training and host field trips for local autistic preschoolers and kindergarteners. This partnership helps children explore dental practices in a safe, fun environment while giving students valuable hands-on experience with autism's diverse characteristics.

UVU Nursing: A Champion for Autism

This spring, the UVU Nursing Department embraced the opportunity to become an Autism Champion through developing a partnership with the Melisa Nellesen Center for Autism. This partnership aimed to improve healthcare offered to autistic and neurodivergent individuals by education and experiential learning.
