Before submitting your application, make sure you have met the following prerequisites for
part 141 flight training:
- Must be currently admitted and enrolled in courses at UVU
- Completed ENGL 1005/1010 and MATH 1030 or higher
- Must have completed a minimum of 24 college credits, 12 of which at a college or university
(AP or concurrent enrollment are excluded)
- Maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Possess an unrestricted first- or second-class FAA Airmen Medical Certificate and email a legible copy to
your assigned advisor. Airmen medical examiners (AME) in Utah
- Completion of UVU Part 141 AVSC 1100 (Ground Private Pilot) with 80% or higher. High
school concurrent enrollment credits do not fulfill the requirement
- If selected for AVSC 1100 you are required to take AVSC 1110 (Flight Private Pilot)
the following semester. (For example: AVSC 1100 Summer - AVSC 1110 Fall)
- Meet with your aviation academic advisor for approval
