Before You Begin: Required Preparation Steps

  1. Secure an internship opportunity.
    • For personalized help finding opportunities, please contact the Woodbury School of Business Internship Coordinator: .
    • Search business-specific postings on the Business Internships page.
    • You may also search general postings on our Find Internships page.
  2. Consult with your advisor or internship coordinator as needed.
    • Contact Cindy Draper with questions about the internship application or UVU process.
    • Contact your academic advisor for questions about how credits apply to your degree or matriculation.
  3. Complete the Internship Orientation.
    • Important: Save your completion code (displayed on-screen and emailed to you). You'll need it for the application.
  4. Prepare the following information (required for the application form):
    • Name and address of the internship provider/company
    • Internship site supervisor's name, email, and phone number (this is the person who will mentor you on-site)
    • Average number of hours you will work per week
    • All internship job duties as they relate to your field of study
  5. Submit your application using the button below.
    • The form (hosted on Qualtrics) takes about 15–20 minutes if you have your information ready.
    • After submission, allow up to 3 weeks for review. You'll receive approval and registration instructions (including CRN) by email. Do not register until you receive approval.

Internship Guidelines for Woodbury School of Business

  • Contact for Questions: For any questions beyond this page, contact the Career & Internship Center at or 801-863-6589.
  • Advising Recommendation: Talk with your academic advisor several months before the semester you plan to complete your internship.
  • Credit Calculation: 60 working hours = 1 internship credit.
  • Current Employment: Yes, you may use your current job if:
    • You have been in the role for fewer than 90 days, OR
    • You take on new projects/responsibilities related to your major (to ensure a meaningful learning experience).
    • For the purpose of this application, please ensure your internship start date reflects when you will begin your new and additional duties.
  • Supervisor Requirement: You must have an on-site mentor/supervisor and provide their contact information on the application.
  • Job Duties: Be prepared to list all internship duties and clearly explain how they relate to your Business Management field of study.
  • Registration: After receiving application approval by email (including CRN—this may take up to 3 weeks), register for the course. Do not register until you receive approval. You may then access the internship course in Canvas.
