Application Instructions

  1. Meet with your academic advisor to discuss how credits apply toward your graduation track.
  2. Locate an internship opportunity. For help with this step please contact your Internship Coordinator, .
  3. Secure an ENGL faculty mentor to guide you throughout your internship (s/he will also be your internship course instructor).
    1. If you are doing English Journals/Publications (ie. Essais, Touchstones, Warp & Weave), your faculty mentor is the respective “faculty advisor”
  4. Complete Internship Orientation and save your completion code. Your completion code will be displayed to you once you complete the Orientation and will be sent to you by email as well.
  5. Submit your application by selecting "Start Application" below. Note there are two application links below. One is for English Journals/Publications and the other is for any other English internship. Make sure to have the following information ready before launching the document:
    1. Name and address of Internship Provider/Company.
    2. Internship Site Supervisor name, email, and phone. The Internship Site Supervisor is the individual employed by your Internship Provider who will mentor you during your experience.
    3. Average number of hours that you will work per week
  6. Upon receipt of application approval by email, please refer to the registration instructions and included CRN number to register for your course. Please allow up to 2-3 weeks for your application to be finalized and to receive your registration instructions.

Special Instructions

  • Students completing an internship with a professor as their internship site supervisor must find a different professor to be their faculty mentor. The site supervisor serves as the “boss” over the internship duties, while the faculty mentor serves over the instruction portion of the internship course. For questions with this step, please contact your academic advisor.
