About: The District manages and maintains billions of dollars of water related infrastructure including dams, tunnels, pipelines, structures, water treatment plants, and hydroelectric facilities which are used to deliver both treated and raw water. Internships involve a variety of tasks and vary depending on assignment: collecting information (e.g., location, attributes, and media) for District infrastructure; job shadowing field operators in order to write technical operation and maintenance documents; reviewing record drawings and construction materials in order to gather information necessary to facilitate cost estimating; working with a GIS analyst to improve geographic accuracy on District assets; populating asset and cost databases; assisting with project plan reviews; financial tracking of contracts and project expenditures; project inspections; project documentation; and other duties as assigned.
