UVU PLANETARIUM
SPEND SOME TIME AT THE UVU PLANETARIUM
The science of astronomy deals with the planets, stars, galaxies, and everything our universe has to offer! Investigate the night sky, learn about telescopes and the tools astronomers use to study space, and enjoy hands-on activities to explore, create, and learn about our vast universe.

Students take face-to-face Astro 1040/1080 classes in the planetarium. They have an
immersive classroom experience.
Free Planetarium shows are offered twice weekly for the UVU community. Attendees
will experience the night sky as well as additional topics like galaxies and black
holes with a professionally made planetarium movie.

Planetarium shows offered twice weekly are open to the public. Additional planetarium shows can be scheduled for UVU groups, UVU camps, public school field trips, community groups, and private groups by contacting Dr. Benjamin Coughenour ([email protected]).

Utah Valley Astronomy Club (UVAC) meets in the UVU planetarium once a month on the second Thursday at 7 pm. The public is welcome. The planetarium also hosts special events like College of Science Night and International Observe the Moon.

The UVU Planetarium is located in the Pope Science Building, Room PS206.

Each summer we explore the wonders of the universe in our hands-on astronomy camps for students ranging from 1st to 9th grade. Students learn about the solar system, stars, galaxies, and beyond while investigating the night sky, using real astronomical tools, and participating in engaging activities—plus enjoy a special planetarium show.
We will have camps for 1-2, 3-4, 5-6, and 7-9th grades.
