Matriculation

All dance students declaring dance as a major enter The Department of Dance as an AS degree candidate. After completing the required coursework during the first year of study, those students seeking a bachelor’s degree in dance will apply for and audition to become a major in the program of their choosing. If currently enrolled in the required coursework, a student may apply for and audition for matriculation during that semester. This inclusive process allows students to improve their skills and enhance their chances of matriculating into a bachelor’s degree program.

It is important that students visit with their assigned dance advisor, their academic advisor, as well as their program coordinator, to navigate their course work in a timely manner. Matriculation workshops will be offered in preparation for the application process (see below for dates and times).
