What Would You Change?

Seventeen students joined the annual Writing for Social Change conference on Nov. 13 in the Science Building Atrium. Students chose a topic that demonstrated economic and environmental impact locally and from their country. Some topics included homelessness, cancer in China, green roofs, air pollution in Mexico City, California drought and health insurance in Taiwan. “This was the best group of posters,” said Kevin Eyraud, ESL instructor.

Not only did they present these topics in a poster session, students also used the same topic for their research paper and glogster (blog) assignment. “This gives them a chance to research in a broader and deeper way,” said Kiri Manookin, ESL instructor.
