Team Info

The UVU Emergency Response Team (ERT) was started in January of 2012 to provide vital Emergency Medical Services for UVU's main campus. The ERT is a state licensed Basic Life Support - Quick Response Unit (BLS-QRU).  Our team serves as first responders for medical emergencies and provides BLS level emergency medical care to anyone in need on main campus. The team consists of UVU students who hold Utah EMS certifications as an EMT, Advanced EMT, or Paramedic.

The team is an example of engaged learning on campus, founded by students who saw a need on campus. The team has two main goals:

  • To provide emergent medical help to UVU students, visitors, staff and faculty on main campus.
  • To provide an avenue in which students can gain real hands-on experience that will prepare them for a job in the Emergency Service field.
