2026 Student Ethics Symposium

Civic Discourse & the Ethics of Dialogue

 

The annual Student Ethics Symposium features student scholarship from a variety of disciplines. The symposium includes lectures, panel discussions, and reports on related undergraduate research projects. This year's theme is entitled “Civic Discourse and the Ethics of Dialogue.”   The symposium will take place on April 6th, 2025 in Clarke Building room 511. Student work this year has explored this topic through the following questions: 

How should we approach controversial or difficult conversations with people we disagree with?   

What is the impact of civic discourse on Democracy?

Is it integral?
