“As a first-generation college student who grew up in a rural village in China, I never imagined that one day I would have the chance to come to the United States and pursue my dream of becoming a doctor. The path to medical school has been both challenging and rewarding. This scholarship not only alleviates the financial burden but also validates the years of dedication and hard work I have invested in my education. My family’s limited financial resources and lack of access to healthcare and education have significantly impacted my academic and personal journey. Medical school application fees pose a significant financial challenge, making the UVU scholarship I received an invaluable resource.
