This award may waive a portion or up to 100% of resident tuition.

2024-2025 Fall Application Opens January 1, 2024 and Closes July 1, 2024

How To Apply

Complete the Admissions process about two weeks prior to the deadline. The scholarship application must be completed by the deadline.

Scholarship Application

Eligibility

  1. Must enroll and earn the minimum number of credit hours each semester. Qualifying credit hours is determined by the program.
  2. Must be a US citizen or eligible non-citizen.
  3. F-1 Visa International Students are not eligible LEARN MORE
  4. Eligibility determined by the program.

Award

  • The Resident Waiver may be used for two semesters in a full-time program. If enrolled in a part-time program, may be used up to four semesters.
  • The award cannot be renewed.
  • This award cannot be placed on hold.
  • The Resident Waiver pays up to 100% of resident tuition. Amount is determined by the program.
  • Student pays course fees
  • Student pays student fees
  • Only offered Fall and Spring and must be used for two consecutive semesters, with the exclusion of Summer.

Private:
Large corporations, small businesses, families, and individuals donate through the Make A Gift Program to allow students the chance to qualify for privately funded scholarship awards.

Eligibility

  • Each Private scholarship will have different eligibility requirements. These requirements may be viewed in ScholarshipUniverse.
  • Need-Based scholarships require the completion of a FAFSA.
  • Academic scholarships are scored based on your GPA and credit hours completed at UVU.
  • 3.0 GPA Minimum is Required

  • Complete the scholarship application
  • Select all scholarships you are interested applying for
  • For need-based, complete the FAFSA.

Nonresident Scholarships

WRGP:
The Western Regional Graduate Program (WRGP) is for students in UVU approved WRGP graduate programs who are residents of specific Western states.

Western Regional Graduate Program (WRGP)

The Western Regional Graduate Program (WRGP) is for students in UVU approved WRGP graduate programs who are residents of specific western states. Time spent in Utah, while receiving WRGP, does not count towards establishing residency for tuition Purposes. 2024 Spring Deadline December 1, 2023

Eligibility

  • Must be enrolled in one of the following UVU approved WRGP programs:
    • Master of Accountancy
    • Master of Business Administration
    • Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling
    • Master of Computer Science
    • Master of Science in Cybersecurity
    • Master of Education
    • Master of Science in Engineering and Technology Management
    • Master of Public Service
    • Master of Financial Planning and Analytics
    • Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy
    • Master of Science in Mathematics Education
    • Master of Science in Nursing
    • Master of Social Work
  • Must be a legal resident of one of the following states or territories: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Washington, Wyoming, the Commonwealth of Northern Mariana Islands, Guam, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, the Federal States of Micronesia, and American Samoa. 
  • Must maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA
  • Must enroll and earn the minimum number of credit hours each semester. Qualifying credit hours is determined by the program.
  • Must upload one of the following when applying:
    • A copy of a valid driver's license from your state of residency
    • A copy of a valid government issued ID from your state of residency

Scholarship Application

Award

Students pays the following:

  • 100% of the graduate program's resident tuition
  • Student Fees
  • Course Fees

Nonresident Wavier:
This is an award that waives the nonresident portion of tuition so that students pay only the graduate resident tuition rates.

Non-Resident Waiver

This award waives the non-resident portion of tuition so that students pay only the resident tuition rates.
