You are considered a freshman if you are a high school student preparing to graduate.
Note: If you have AP credits or credits from concurrent enrollment classes, you are still eligible for scholarships designed for freshmen.
You are considered a continuing student if one of the following applies to you.
You are considered a transfer student if you have completed 12 or more credits at another institution after high school graduation.
You are considered a graduate student if you are admitted or enrolled in a graduate program at UVU.
The Non-Resident Academic Merit scholarships will be selected from current high school seniors who demonstrate that they meet the academic criteria. Unweighted GPA is used & GPA is not rounded.
Even though UVU Academic Merit scholarships do not require a scholarship application, we encourage students to complete the scholarship application to see what other opportunities might be available.
Only 10 Non-Resident Presidential and 10 Non-Resident Exemplary scholarships are available.
Presidential requires a 31+ ACT / 1400+ SAT and a 3.9+ GPA. Exemplary includes 27-30 ACT / 1280-1370 SAT with a 3.9-4.0 GPA, or 27-36 ACT / 1280-1590 SAT with a 3.7-3.8 GPA. Non-Resident waiver applies to 21-26 ACT / 1080-1240 SAT with a 3.8+ GPA, or 3.6-3.7 GPA with at least a 24 ACT / 1180 SAT.

The Honors Program tuition and housing scholarships are awarded based on a student’s potential for innovation, creativity, and intellectual inquiry.
To be eligible for the Honors Program Awards and Scholarships, you must first be admitted to the Honors Program.
