Are you ready for Monday, August 24th?! We know it's a busy day—in fact, that's why Freshman Convocation happens on the very first day of school. We want to show you how to take all of your energy and enthusiasm for college and put it to good use, so that you can have the best freshman year possible!

All new freshmen, starting either summer or fall 2020, need to attend. Concurrent enrollment students attending UVU campus for the first time also need to attend (even if your earned credits exceed freshman status). Only those freshmen with a UVU Monday evening class are excused from attending. Freshman Convocation is a commemorative-style event and we encourage you to bring your immediate family with you to help celebrate the beginning of your college experience.
You and your family will receive a FREE BBQ-style dinner. Please RSVP so that we can get an accurate meal count.
Please plan to arrive on campus by 5:30 p.m. to give you adequate time to park, walk to the UCCU Center, and find your seat. All freshmen will be sitting as a group on the main floor, with family members sitting in the arena stands. We request that all freshmen be in their seat by 5:45 p.m. Freshman Convocation begins promptly at 6:00 p.m. PLEASE PLAN TO ARRIVE ON TIME.
Freshman Convocation attendance is predicted to exceed 5,500—one of the largest annual events held at UVU! To facilitate the flow of traffic coming on to our campus, please review these instructions on how to access campus and where to park. Allow 30 minutes additional driving/parking time than you usually allot when you visit UVU.
Attire is casual. The program will be held in the UCCU Center, then the venue shifts (outside) to the Courtyard for the BBQ and after-party. Please dress appropriately for a warm, summer evening outside (modest attire requested).
