I’ve joined GEAR UP. What are my next steps?
Contact and meet with your GEAR UP counselor regularly and begin working on the GEAR UP timeline.

Do I have to attend a specific college or university after participating in GEAR UP?
No. We encourage our GEAR UP students to explore a wide variety of schools in and outside of Utah to find the school that is the right fit for them. GEAR UP also will help students interested in joining the military or other explore other career paths.
Do I have to apply to GEAR UP every year?
No. Once a GEAR UP student, always a GEAR UP student, even if you transfer schools.
I’m an educator. How do I get involved in GEAR UP?
GEAR UP is funded by a seven-year federally funded grant. Schools need to be included in the grant for GEAR UP to provide services at that high school.
