    • ACT Bootcamp
      8:30-1:30 PM, Saturday, February 7th, 2026

      GEAR UP Utah's ACT Bootcamp is FREE for GEAR UP Utah students in 10th, 11th, or 12th grades. Learn what to expect, strategies and tips for every ACT section. Located on UVU Campus in the Clark Building, room 101C. Space is limited, register early.

    • Summer Bridge
      June 26-August 8, 2026

      GEAR UP Utah's First Year Services is pleased to announce a partnership with UVU Excelerate to offer a tuition-free class this summer. Eligible GEAR UP students can enroll in Excelerate's second block class session, scheduled from June 26, 2025, to August 8, 2025. This opportunity is available to incoming college freshmen. For more information and to begin the registration process, please visit the Excelerate webpage.

      Summer Bridge information

The GEAR UP program aims to assist low-income and underserved students in developing a productive academic mindset and provide strategies for building momentum and persistence in high school. This ensures they are prepared academically, socially, and emotionally to successfully complete their education journey. GEAR UP counselors, tutors, and mentors provide services with a 100% student-focused approach that promotes academic progress.

GEAR UP Utah at Utah Valley University in partnership with Weber State University, Utah State University, and the San Juan Foundation, provides services to 42 high schools, middle schools, and first-year college students.
