Institutional Research
Institutional Research equips leaders and decision-makers within and outside UVU with access to information, analysis, data, and skills to guide their decisions and tell UVU’s story.
Objectives
Institutional Research provides:
Research about UVU
- IR collects data and conduct research on key points of institutional concern. This research anticipates and responses to the planning and decision making needs of leaders.
Official information
- IR represents the institution with official data (that matches federal and state reporting), historical information and manages institution-level assessment and benchmarking efforts. IR provides leaders with readily available, easily understood, and compelling information to communicate UVU’s story.
Data literacy
- IR supports efforts of data literacy through teaching, mentoring, and facilitating the use of existing institutional information and data, collection of new data, and the responsible use of external sources of data.
Perspective
- IR reviews higher education trends, identifies new information needs and provides insight into the regional and national higher education environment. We examine best practices of other institutions, as well as various techniques, tools, and instruments used to describe institutional information.
