Acceptance into the MSN program will be based on information from the following:

1Essay Question

Application for admission to the MSN program. Read the grading rubric for the essay question.

2Previous Degree

Baccalaureate degree in nursing from a program accredited by a recognized nursing accrediting agency.

3Current licensure

Current licensure as an RN in Utah or eligible for RN licensure in Utah.

4Statistics course

Completion of an undergraduate course in statistics to include descriptive and inferential statistics.

5Undergraduate GPA

Overall undergraduate GPA of 3.2 or higher or GPA of 3.2 or higher in the last 60 semester hours of undergraduate coursework.

6Letters of recommendation

Three professional letters of recommendation. Letters of recommendation should be submitted by professional sources (such as former/current faculty or employers) and address the following: (a) the applicant's ability to succeed academically in a graduate program, (b) scholarly or creative potential, and (c) aspects of personality and characteristics significant to graduate study.
