UVU’s Student Health Services is partnering with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention to bring the documentary “It’s Real: College Students and Mental Health” to UVU students. This timely film raises awareness about common mental health issues in college students and encourages help-seeking via campus and community resources.

The film screening will take place on August 21, 2020, from noon to 1 p.m. Due to COVD-19, the video will be hosted virtually. Tickets are free, but those wishing to participate must register for the documentary screening. Registration is limited, so early registration is encouraged.

“After watching this documentary, we hope that students understand that mental health conditions are real illnesses that are treatable,” said J.C. Graham, director of UVU’s Crisis Services. “Stress, anxiety, and depression are common mental health issues that college students face, and we want UVU students to be proactive in their mental health care. It’s OK to talk about mental health, and help is available for those that need it.”
