Celebrating Women's History Month 2022

Utah Valley University recognizes the important role that women play within our leadership, faculty, staff, and student government.

March is an important time for women across the globe, with Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day celebrated on March 8th. Utah Valley University recognizes the important role that women play within our leadership, faculty, staff, and student government.

For the second consecutive year, we have four female presidents on campus: President Astrid S. Tuminez, UVU president; Karen Magaña, UVU student body president; Beka Grulich, PACE president; and Hilary Hungerford, Faculty Senate president. These women are defying boundaries, breaking through the glass ceiling, and providing strong role models for our future female leaders.

This year, the Women’s Success Center will participate in the International Women’s Day 2022 theme #BreaktheBias. While we are making progress as a university, we have a long way to go globally for women’s equality. The first step in change for the future is awareness of where we are today. Learn more about #BreaktheBias and how you can get involved on a local and national level.

Throughout the month, we will spotlight events, stories, and resources available to female identifying students, faculty and staff on campus.

Join us in celebrating the women of our past, present, and future.

Learn more about the Women’s Success Center

The Women's Success Center was created in 2011 to address low enrollment and graduation of women at Utah Valley University. Every year, we see significant improvement as we work toward our mandate to recruit, retain, and graduate female students.

Our programs are designed to help students stay on course and graduate. These programs are designed specifically for women, but are available to every student on campus — we welcome everyone who comes through our doors. We firmly believe that diversity is integral to building strong communities and attaining excellence, and we support the University's diversity and inclusion mission.
