Grant Management & Funding Oversight

Cayuse is UVU's electronic grants management system, supporting the grant lifecycle from proposal development through award management and closeout.

Cayuse is an electronic grants management system providing the connectivity bridging the research administration processes and the proposal development and submissions.

New to UVU in July 2025, OSP has worked to bring in this dynamic system that will streamline the grant lifecycle, from development to closeout.

About Cayuse

In 2002, Cayuse received a Small Business Innovation Research NIH grant to create and commercialize an eRA system. Cayuse became the first vendor to successfully communicate system-to-system with Grants.gov through Cayuse Proposals. Eight years later, Cayuse licensed the RAMSeS system and commercialized the platform making it available as a Software as a Service (SaaS) offering branded Sponsored Projects.

Today, that spirit of discovery -recognizing a gap and then driving to find a solution is supported by the Cayuse Connected Research Enterprise powered by the Cayuse Platform.

At UVU

On the pre-award side, Principal Investigators (PIs) are able to develop budgets, upload documents for review, and initiate electronic routing and Notice of Intent. Once issued an award, PIs have access to live expenditure data populated by Banner in a user friendly way.
