Carrie Bennett

Carrie Bennett is a Program Manager in the Division of Health Promotion & Prevention at the Utah County Health Department, where she has served for over 18 years. A U.S. Navy veteran and Master Certified Health Education Specialist, Carrie holds a B.S. in Community Health Education from Utah Valley University and an Executive MPA from BYU. She provides leadership and oversight for multiple public health programs and grants focused on preventing chronic disease and injury. Carrie currently serves as Past President of the Utah Chapter of the Society of Public Health Education and enjoys hiking, paddle boarding, and mountain biking in her free time.

Sherilee Woodward

Sherilee Miller Woodward brings nearly four decades of experience in education, entrepreneurship, and community service, with a strong focus on public engagement, family-centered values, and mission-driven leadership. 

She holds a bachelor's degree in professional studies from BYU–Idaho, with an emphasis on family relationships and children's and family advocacy. Sherilee has extensive professional experience in public relations, management, human resources, and instruction, and is skilled at building collaborative teams and translating vision into action. 

Sherilee currently serves as Executive Director of the Bingham Family Clinic, a 501(c)(3) free clinic providing quality, dignified healthcare to uninsured individuals and families in Utah County. In this role, she works closely with community partners, donors, healthcare professionals, and public stakeholders to expand access to care and strengthen community well-being. 

She brings a service-oriented, solutions-focused perspective to advisory work and is committed to lifelong learning, civic responsibility, and fostering meaningful community connections.

Merilee Larsen

Dr. Larsen completed her undergrad at Utah Valley State College and her Masters (MPH) and Doctorate (DrPH) at Loma Linda University. Dr. Larsen is an Associate Professor and she has been teaching at UVU for over 20 years and has taught at the University of Utah and in private industry. Merilee is an E-RYT500 and has taught Yoga for over 20+ years.

Lt. Shane N. Frederickson

Melissa Dimond

Melissa Dimond, MPH (Epidemiology), is a seasoned public health leader with over 25 years of experience translating data into action and policy. Currently serving as Deputy Director for the Utah Department of Health and Human Services’ Division of Population Health, she provides strategic oversight in a large division and champions results-based accountability and quality improvement. Ms. Dimond's expertise bridges academic and governmental sectors, demonstrated by her work as an Adjunct Instructor, a contributor to publications in the CDC Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR) and peer-reviewed journals, and her active contribution to Utah’s public health Governance processes and executive committees. Known for her crisis leadership (including in preparation for the 2002 Winter Olympics and during the COVID-19 response) and her commitment to mentoring future public health professionals, she holds a deep understanding of integrated public health systems and the application of epidemiology in real-world policy environments. 

Katie Zimmerman

Katie Zimmerman

Katie Zimmerman has a Bachelor's degree in Public Health from Brigham Young University and a Master’s of Business Administration from Utah Valley University. She spent the first several years of her career in direct, client-facing public health service, working with refugees and people experiencing homelessness. Katie now works for the Utah Department of Health and Human Services in the Division of Population Health. Katie is the operations manager for the suite of applications known as Public Health Applied Surveillance Tools (PHAST). Katie has received a national award for data systems change leadership. She is passionate about Public Health and accelerating data into action. 

Michelle Cameron

Michelle Cameron is a public health professional dedicated to health promotion, education, and community well-being. She began her career with Intermountain Health in 2022 in Children's Health, focused on injury prevention and addressing social drivers of health throughout the community. She now leads community health initiatives for Intermountain Health in Utah County, working to advance equitable health outcomes and strengthen community partnerships. 

Sabine Berlin

Sabine berlin

Sabine Berlin is an Assistant Dean in the College of Health and Public Service (CHPS) at Utah Valley University. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and a Master of Education in Higher Education Leadership. With over 13 years of experience in curriculum development, assessment, and accreditation, Sabine has played a key role in advancing academic quality and compliance across multiple programs at UVU.

In her current role, she leads accreditation processes for CHPS programs, collaborates with faculty on curriculum alignment, and supports strategic initiatives that enhance student success. Sabine is passionate about building strong academic programs, fostering faculty engagement, and ensuring excellence in health and public service education. 

Max Bougthon

My name is Max Boughton. I received a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from Utah Valley University. During my time as a student, I interned with the UVU Wellness Programs and now serve as their Program Coordinator. My future goals include earning a Master of Public Health and providing diabetes education and prevention services to our community. Outside of my professional and academic pursuits, I enjoy supporting my own dimensions of wellness through music, physical activity, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
