There has been a lot in the news this month that could be triggering for survivors of abuse.  We want you to know that we at SHS have been mindful of how UVU students are impacted by this news and we feel deep sadness and anger about the impact of abuse, especially when perpetrated on vulnerable identities.  We also want you to know about the services for you on campus. Introducing (or reintroducing) Sariah Collard and Christiana Wagstaff

Sariah Collard works with us at Student Health Services and is our Victims Navigator.  She is available to consult with students regarding the services on campus, and in the community, for survivors. She can also refer student victims to campus and community resources such as: counseling and support groups, academic resources, community Victims’ Advocates, UVU Victims Advocates, law enforcement, and medical care.  You can schedule an appointment with Sariah by calling Student Health Services and asking for a "navigator appointment.”  The number is (801) 863-8876

Christiana Wagstaff works for the UVU police and is our UVU Victims Advocate.  She available to help people understand the criminal justice system and process, support them throughout the legal process, assist them in making reports to law enforcement, offer them resources on and off campus, assist them in navigating these resources, and much more.  Her services are no cost, confidential, and available for faculty, students, and staff. You can contact her by emailing [email protected], by calling the front desk at 801-863-4755, or calling dispatch at 801-863-5555, or you can call/text her cell at 385-292-8383.

There is significant overlap between Sariah’s and Christiana’s jobs, and you are welcome to reach out to whoever you feel more comfortable reaching out to. Furthermore, there are no requirement or qualifications for their services so if any of the above services feel like they would be helpful feel free to reach out. We deeply appreciate Sariah and Christiana.  We are so grateful they are here to help.
