Scholarship

The TRIO Student Support Services Scholarship is for incoming and continuing students at Utah Valley University. This scholarship is for a maximum of 2 semesters (Fall/Spring). Students are welcome to reapply for the scholarship even if they have previously been awarded.

SSS Scholarship Requirements

• You must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree and planning to graduate from UVU.
• You must be BOTH a First-Generation Student and Qualify for Federal Financial Aid (Pell Grant) to apply.
• You must be a Utah State resident to apply for the TRIO SSS Scholarship.
• 2.5 cumulative GPA minimum.
• You do NOT have to be a current TRIO Student.
• This award is a tuition waiver which waives the collection of tuition charges. Receipt of any other tuition waivers that cover your tuition may forfeit this award.

The SSS Scholarship Program does not provide financial assistance or temporary book loans for textbook purchases. For questions about book loans or financial aid, please contact the UVU Financial Aid Department.

How to Apply

Before applying, you must already be admitted into UVU, have a UVID number, and have an updated FAFSA submitted and received by UVU. Plan on applying for admission at least three business days before the scholarship application deadline.

1. Log into ScholarshipUniverse.
2. Follow the instructions on how to apply for scholarships at Utah Valley University.
3. Mark that you are First-Gen on your eligibility profile. (You must be First-Generation to apply. This means neither of your parents have graduated with a bachelor's degree in the USA.)
4. Apply for the need-based TRIO Student Support Services Scholarship.
