All full-time faculty are invited to apply for the UVU Faculty Summer Institute, held in early May. The focus for 2025 is on enhancing students’ workforce readiness through strategic use of credit for prior learning, embedded credentialing, project-based learning and industry partnerships, and development of CEUs (Continuing Education Units). The focus for 2026 will be announced soon.

Those selected will:

  • Attend a kickoff event on May 6 featuring an internationally known expert in microcredentials and prior learning recognition 
  • Network with fellow faculty at UVU and other USHE institutions who are creating similar learning activities in their own courses  
  • Receive project-specific support from UVU staff  
  • Receive a $1500 stipend upon completion of their proposed project (end of May) 

 

Application Proposals

In the application, faculty may submit a proposal to create one of the following deliverables:  

  • Course-specific prior learning assessment for Credit-for-Prior Learning 
  • Embedding workforce relevant badging or certificates into existing courses  
  • Creating CEUs (Continuing Education Units) for UVU’s Professional Education  
  • Developing project-based learning or other industry-engaged efforts for a specific course
