Faculty are invited to apply for the 2026 UVU Faculty Summer Institute, focused on designing workforce-aligned learning experiences through credit for prior learning, embedded credentials, project-based learning, industry partnerships, CEUs—and the responsible use of AI to enhance teaching and assessment.

Selected faculty will collaborate with peers across UVU, receive project support, and earn a $1,500 stipend upon completion.

Faculty Selected for the Institute Will:

  • Network with other faculty from UVU who are developing similar workforce-aligned learning experiences
  • Receive project-specific guidance and support from UVU staff
  • Receive a $1,500 stipend upon completion of their proposed project deliverable (by the end of May)

 

Application Proposals:

In the application, faculty may propose a project in one of the following areas:

  • Developing a course-specific Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) for Credit for Prior Learning
  • Embedding workforce-relevant badges, microcredentials, or certificates into existing courses
  • Creating Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for UVU’s Professional Education offerings
  • Designing project-based learning, industry-engaged activities, or applied learning experiences for a specific course
  • Integrating AI-supported learning strategies (e.g., assessment design, feedback, reflection, skill demonstration) that strengthen workforce readiness while maintaining academic rigor

Projects may combine multiple focus areas and should align with UVU’s commitment to access, quality, and workforce relevance.
