Complaint Process

Utah Valley University encourages students and prospective students to first address complaints with the personnel in the office, department or college that caused the alleged grievance.

Formal Complaints

Online, Distance or Independent Study (Correspondence) Program Complaints

Utah Valley University is a member of the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA). This means we adhere to established standards for offering post-secondary online/distance education programs in all member states.

  • Students should report complaints related to online, distance or independent study programs (including authorization/professional licensure complaints) to UVU's State Authorization department at [email protected].

For students residing in Utah

  • If students reside in Utah and UVU does not resolve the complaint, students can file a complaint with the Utah System of Higher Education via their reporting website.

For students residing outside of Utah

Fraud, False Advertising, or Other Deceptive Practices Complaints

  • Complaints against the University relating to fraud, false advertising, or other deceptive practices can be filed with the Utah Division of Consumer Protection.
