The UVU Forum on Engaged Reading is currently accepting program proposals for breakout sessions at the For the Love of Reading Conference on October 21-22, 2021, at the Zermatt Resort in Midway, Utah. The selection committee is looking to showcase UVU faculty, staff, educators, and other professionals in the community who can present engaging examples of new and innovative ways to inspire and assist children in grades K-12 to love reading.

Topics of interest for presentations include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Teachers or librarians partnering with families

  • Making libraries a place for motivating readers

  • Teachers partnering with public libraries

  • Technology with reading/writing nonfiction or informational texts for young people

  • Film and the connection between movies and books

  • Multicultural/diversity (including helping ESL learners or representing different cultures through reading)

  • Literacy issues of interest to secondary educators

The proposal submission deadline is June 1, 2021.
Proposals must be submitted online.

One free conference registration and one free room night at the Zermatt will be provided to each presenting group. Each presenter must register for the conference by August 30 and notify UVU of their hotel room requirement.
