Student Ombudsman

This is a resource on campus for students dealing with conflict both on and off campus. Housing disputes and interpersonal issues are common issues. If there is a dispute between a student and a faculty member both the student ombudsman and faculty relations would be involved to help resolve the matter.

Title IX Office

Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 protects people from sex discrimination in educational programs and activities at institutions that receive federal financial assistance. Consistent with Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, Utah Valley University does not discriminate against students, faculty, or staff based on sex in any of its programs or activities, including, but not limited to, educational programs, employment, and admission. Sexual harassment, including sexual violence and sexual assault, is a type of sex discrimination and is prohibited by Title IX and by the University.

Campus Police

The Utah Valley University Police Department (UVUPD), a police force fully accredited by the State of Utah, is charged with protecting your safety and property on our Orem campus. UVU police provide 24-hour patrol services and security protection for the benefit of all University properties, employees, students and visitors at the Orem campus. Utah Valley University police officers have the same full police powers and responsibilities as do officers in other Utah law enforcement agencies.
