Meet our Honors Student Ambassadors:

The Honors Ambassadors is an established committee of UVU Honors students who, along with the Steering Committee, help govern the Program. As student representatives, they act as advocates to their fellow Honors students when problems and questions arise concerning the Program itself, or from their interaction with professors, and other students. The Honors Ambassadors work directly with Honors Program Director.

Students interested in joining the Honors Ambassadors may apply each Spring term for the upcoming year.

Cathleen Brunson

Cathleen Brunson

Cathleen (Catie) Brunson is currently a sophomore here at UVU with a major in Business Management and a minor in Spanish. Prior to beginning her studies, she served a full time 18-month religious mission in Peru/Missouri where she grew to love a variety of cultures and people. This was also where she ended up meeting her future husband with whom she will be marrying in a few short months! Outside of her studies and living her own rom-com, she enjoys anything outdoors whether it be basking in the sun, or high adventure activities such as bow hunting or bungee jumping. She is a music enthusiast with talents in voice, piano, guitar, and ukulele. She has a special love for photography and upon finishing her bachelor’s degree, she hopes to continue in her personal photography business, as well as seek out experience in forensic photography.”

I am a junior here at UVU working on my bachelor's degree in anthropology. I love learning more about the history of humanity and coming to better understand the cultures and traditions of the world. I truly enjoy school and am looking forward to beginning many of my major specific classes this fall semester. I have had the wonderful opportunity to study Spanish through my time in school as well as on my LDS mission to Georgia, US Spanish speaking. I love the language and learning to connect with others through the beautiful language. I enjoy spending time with my dogs and taking them on little trips. In my spare time I also enjoy painting and working with soft pastel chalks. I have been a member of the Honors program for a full year now and I love it! I am so stoked to be an Ambassador this semester and get to know the amazing students in the program better than I've had the chance to in the past!

Clayton Rawson

Clayton Rawson

Clayton Rawson recently graduated from UVU, and the Honors Program, with his biology major. He is coming back to finish his second degree in chemistry (professional chemistry emphasis) with a minor in psychology. After finishing his second major, he plans to become a physician-scientist and work in the field of oncology. Eventually, he would like to work at a medical school where he can see patients, teach, and conduct research. On-campus, he is currently the lead in Dr. Eddy Cadet's research lab, a team lead in the LEAD program, and an adjunct instructor for the Biology and Chemistry Departments. In the past, he has been an ICC Ambassador, Senator for the College of Science, Presidential Intern, Wolverine Ambassador, Student Alumni Ambassador, and Station1 intern. In his free time, he likes to listen to music (especially opera and Broadway), scuba dive, read, travel, cook, play the piano, and practice archery. For the past two years, he has had the pleasure of being an honors ambassador. He is very excited to continue to be part of the UVU honors program. As an older student, it has been a great way for him to connect with his fellow students. Clayton has had many wonderful experiences at UVU, but being a part of the Honors Program has helped him grow in more ways than he can count, and he is excited to pass on what he has learned.

Michael Milius

Michael Milius

Hello friends! My name is Michael Milius. I am a senior, pre-med student studying psychology with minors in both biology and chemistry. Currently, I am applying to medical school and hope to start attending an osteopathic medical program starting in Fall of 2023. My ultimate career goal is to become a private practice Pediatrician, working with my dad in Gilbert, AZ. I am originally from Mesa, AZ, and also claim Gilbert, AZ, as home. My first year of undergrad was at Arizona State University and then, after getting married, my wife brought me up to Provo where I transferred to Utah Valley University in Fall of 2019. Before that first semester at UVU I called Tiff, the Honors Assistant Director, and she persuaded me to join the program, and it has been the best decision I’ve made regarding my education. When I am not busy with schoolwork (or work work), I enjoy watching movies, being outdoors, and spending time with my wife and our 1-year-old son. I love being a part of this great University and this amazing program. Please feel free to reach out with questions about the honors program, being a transfer or non-traditional student, or my pre-med journey. I look forward to talking with you!

Paul Wynn

Paul Wynn

Paul Wynn is a pre-med sophomore at UVU with a major in biotechnology. While he enjoys all of his classes, those that pertain to any of the sciences are a particular favorite. Having served a two-year religious mission in Bolivia, Paul is not only fluent in Spanish, but he also has a great love for South American culture. While not in the classroom, Paul enjoys playing sports, especially soccer, as well as other outdoor activities, such as hiking. He also has interests in music, as both a pianist and drummer. After completing his bachelor's degree, Paul plans on attending medical school with the hope of one day practicing and researching in the field of medicine.
