Policy Pipeline Updates: Policy Actions Approved by President's Council, October 23, 2025

Today, October 23, 2025, UVU's President’s Council approved the following policy actions:

Addition to Policy Manual Structure

Marketing and Communications 800-Level Section for Policy Manual

Policy Sponsor Kara Schneck
Policy Steward Matt Chambers, Josh Cook
Requested Approval Create a new 800-level section in the Policy Manual for Marketing and Communications.

The Policy Office and Marketing Communications recommend establishing a standalone 800-level section to align with the overall policy manual structure and provide UMC consistent visibility alongside other divisions (100–700). Because UMC governs communications, branding, messaging, institutional reputation, and other functions with university-wide impact, these areas merit a clearly defined section of their ownTherefore, we recommend that an 800-level subsection be opened in the Policy Manual and be named “Marketing and Communications."
