• The Bingham Gallery is open to the public during library hours except for scheduled events.
  • To ensure that you will be able to access the gallery when you visit, please call 801-863-7172 and/or review our calendar.
  • Insider tip: The best time to view Roots of Knowledge is at least one hour before sunset.


  • Roots of Knowledge is in the Bingham Gallery on the first floor of the Fulton Library on Utah Valley University’s main campus.


  • Paid visitor parking is available on the west side of the library and in the parking garage to the southeast of the library, next to the Student Life and Wellness Center.
  • Permits are not required to park in employee or student stalls on weekdays after 5pm or on Saturday or Sunday.
  • Disabled (ADA) parking stalls are available in both L4 (west of the Fulton Library) and L13 (south of the Fulton Library). They are free for the first two hours. Vehicles displaying a legal DMV-issued disabled placard/plate may also park in any regular parking stall if there are no disabled-only stalls available. 


  • Docents are available to help walk-in guests:
    • Monday – Friday 9:00 am – 8:00 pm.
    • Saturday 11:00 am – 5:00 pm.
  • Docents are not available on Sundays.


  • We offer public guided tours on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm.
  • Large groups (15 or more people) need to schedule tours at least one week in advance by calling 801-863-7172.
  • Small groups (less than 15 people) are encouraged to attend our set public guided tours.
  • To ask about special requests or for any tour questions, please call 801-863-7172.



  • Guided field trips include a 60-minute interactive tour through the gallery and a 60-minute art making activity rooted in Utah State Core Curriculum Standards.
    • Available for K – 6 groups
    • Limited to 70 students
    • Available Monday - Thursday at 10:00 am
    • Contact Roots of Knowledge Education Coordinator kknudsen@uvu.edu at least 4 weeks in advance to schedule your guided tour


  • Self-guided field trips include 60 minutes in the gallery, scavenger hunts rooted in Utah State Core Curriculum Standards, and a docent on hand to answer any questions.
    • Available for K – 12 groups 
    • Limited to 90 students
    • Available Monday – Friday
    • Contact Roots of Knowledge Education Coordinator kknudsen@uvu.edu at least 4 weeks in advance to schedule your self-guided tour
