There are parenting and childcare resources available to you outside of UVU. If you need further assistance beyond what is available on campus, these programs may be able to offer you the support you need.

The Utah Department of Workforce Services (DWS) offers Child Care Assistance for low-income parents. Learn more about eligibility requirements and how to apply for this childcare subsidy on the DWS website.

Kids in Care

Kids in Care is a childcare program that provides free drop-in childcare to recently unemployed parents as they look for jobs. DWS will pay for up to 150 hours of job search childcare assistance.

Utah Women, Infants and Children

The Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program provides nutritional information, breastfeeding services, and supplemental food to Utah families in need. Food is available for parents during and after pregnancy and for children up to 5 years old.

Pregnant Woman’s Program

Medicaid offers a Pregnant Woman’s Program that covers medical care costs related to pregnancy. Coverage for the parent lasts from application acceptance to 60 days after birth, and the child qualifies for Medicaid for 60 days after birth.

Baby Your Baby

Baby Your Baby is another Medicaid program that covers pregnancy-related outpatient medical care for low-income parents. It does not cover the delivery of the baby.
