If you are having difficulty connecting with our Front Desk, you can set up a time in which we will call you. Click on the 'Schedule An Appointment' button and in the 2nd step of registering select "Schedule to Speak with an Employee". We will call you at the specific time you scheduled to help you.
Testing accommodations can be provided for a student with documented disabilities by the UVU Office of Accessibility Services. To coordinate testing arrangements with the Accommodative Testing Center, students and faculty are required to arrange the following:
Exam Notification
Faculty members are encouraged to provide students with sufficient notice of exam dates. Please ensure to review course syllabus.
Scheduling
Students need to schedule at least 2 business days in advance.
Student’s first appointment for the semester can only be set after being approved for Accommodations by the Office of Accessibility Services.

Exam Drop Off
It is the faculty’s responsibility to have the exam provided to UVU Testing Services by 1pm the buisness day prior to the student’s scheduled test appointment. At the time of submission, faculty must indicate the name of the student and what testing aids are permitted to the student, if any. Instructors are to contact [email protected] for exam submission instructions and/or questions.
Testing Day
Students should arrive at the Accommodative Testing Center at least 10 minutes before their appointment. Students are not allowed to bring any testing materials into the testing room except testing aids approved by their instructor. After a student has completed an exam, all test materials, testing aids, and scratch papers will be collected. If you are more than 15 minutes late to your appointment, your room reservation may be reassigned and you may be asked to reschedule your appointment.
Return of Completed Exam
Exam material is returned to the instructor based on the method they have indicated to our staff. Most exam material is returned the following buisness day after the student has tested.
Food and Water Accommodation
The food and water accommodation, when approved, allows the student to bring food and/or water into the testing room.
Food must be brought in clear ziplock bags to be inspected. Do not bring foods that are odorous.
Policies & Procedures
Appointment Scheduling
All appointments must be scheduled at least 2 business days in advance. Same-day scheduling cannot be guaranteed.
Students are encouraged to schedule all exams for the semester as early as possible.
Testing appointments begin at 8:45 AM, and all testing must be completed by 5:00 PM.
If you are unable to attend your appointment, please notify our office as soon as possible. You are responsible for canceling or rescheduling your appointment.
Students arriving more than 15 minutes late may need to reschedule, depending on availability.
Students should coordinate with their instructor to ensure exams are submitted by 1:00 PM on the business day prior to the scheduled appointment.
Testing Aids
Only accommodations approved by your OAS counselor and listed in your accommodation letter will be provided.
Food and drink are not permitted in testing rooms unless approved as part of your accommodations.
Students are expected to bring necessary materials (e.g., pencils, calculators if permitted).
Only instructor-approved testing aids will be allowed. Please clarify any questions about permitted materials before your appointment.
Check-In Process
A valid school or government-issued ID is required to check in.
Personal items (e.g., backpacks, electronics, hats) must be stored in designated lockers.
To maintain a secure testing environment, students may be asked to complete a brief security check (e.g., emptying pockets or verifying materials).
During Testing
If you need to leave the room (e.g., restroom break), notify a proctor.
Studying is not permitted in testing rooms prior to starting your exam due to space limitations.
Exams will be administered according to the approved time accommodations and scheduled appointment window.
Please plan your time accordingly; unfinished exams may need to be submitted at the end of your scheduled testing period if no additional time is available.
Scantrons must be completed within your testing time.
All scratch paper must be returned in fully intact.
Use of unauthorized materials or academic misconduct will result in the exam being stopped and reported to your instructor and OAS counselor.
Testing Services reserves the right to review or follow up on any concerning or irregular testing behavior.

Exam Reader Pen
An assistive device that can be dragged across a line of text, which the device will then read aloud in a humanized computer voice. Available for paper/pencil exams.
JAWS
Computer software designed to control the entire computer through a keyboard instead of a mouse, and read anything that appears on the screen. Initially designed for the blind, making the software unintuitive for those who can see.
Noise Canceling Headphones
Can assist in limiting distractions by blocking out sounds.
TV Screen Text Enlarger
An assistive device used for enlargement of paper/pencil exams, or test aids.
Text to Speech
Our computers have multiple options for Text to Speech. This includes software such as "Equatio" and "Read and Write". Other options are available with Microsoft products and built in text to speech on web browsers.
Voice Dictation
Our computers are up to date with Windows 11 which allows for voice dictation. Additionally, we have Microsoft products installed that allows for voice dictation.
Zoom Text
Computer software designed for the enlargement of computer exams, and includes a screen reader.
Students needing test accommodations must first visit the Office of Accessibility Services at the beginning of each semester to assess their needs. Upon approval of accommodations, paperwork will be sent to Testing Services allowing students to test in the Accommodative Testing Center.
