General Questions

Do I need to make an appointment to test? 

Yes, appointments must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance. Please schedule through our 3rd party appointment scheduling system, RegisterBlast.

How do I reschedule?

  • If you need to reschedule less than 6 hours before your scheduled appointment or you have missed your appointment you will need to schedule and pay for a new appointment. 

How do I cancel my appointment?

  • To receive a refund for a canceled appointment please email us at least 6 hours in advance at [email protected]

Is Photo ID required for testing?

Yes, current government-issued photo ID are required at the time of check-in. Acceptable forms of ID include driver’s license/permit, passport, and UVU ID card.

What do I do with my personal belongings (backpack, keys, phone, etc.) while testing?

All personal belongings will be locked up in a provided locker.

What is the fee for my exam?

Fees vary by exam.  The price of the exam will be shown in parenthesis next to the name of the exam when you schedule. Please schedule through our 3rd party appointment scheduling system, RegisterBlast, to see what the price is for your exam.

What if I recently changed my name?

If you are testing for UVU we need to ensure that your name matches your ID compared to the UVU database. If you have changed your name recently you can bring both your current ID and your previous ID that matches the UVU database. We suggest that you contact UVU Registration Services to update your name in their database

What is RegisterBlast?

UVU Testing Services uses the third party scheduling services of RegisterBlast. 

The charge when purchasing an exam will appear as PREPBLAST on your bank statement.

Am I allowed to bring my own calculator? 

No personal calculators are allowed. However, you may use the on-screen calculator provided within the ALEKS program on questions where it is permitted.

How long is the test?

The exam has a 2 hour time limit with up to 25 questions. 

How long will it take for my scores to be entered?

Scores will be entered into UVU's database within 24 business hours. 

How do I know what class I placed  into? 

Visit the GE Math Success Class Placement page to determine what class you placed into. We also recommend that you meet with your academic advisor regarding your placement.

What do I do if I want to retake the exam? 

You must wait 24 hours after your last test before you can take another proctored attempt.   It is encourage to complete the required 3 hours of learning modules in your ALEKS cohort. 

You will then need to schedule another appointment with us.

How do I sign up for the GED? 

All GED appointments are made through the GED website at https://www.ged.com/. Additional GED questions can be found on their website, or you can call their help line: 1-877-392-6433

How do I get accommodations for a Pearson Vue exam? 

Pearson Vue testing accommodations are established through their website at https://home.pearsonvue.com/Test-takers/Accommodations.aspx.  

What forms of ID will you accept?

Valid Driver's Licenses and Passports are always accepted. Additional information on which IDs are accepted will be provided when you schedule your exam.

How do I reschedule my Pearson Vue exam?

All scheduling and rescheduling is done through the Pearson Vue website.  https://home.pearsonvue.com/

I'm not a UVU Student. Where should I park?

Please visit UVU Parking Services for parking options. 

Parking lot L9 is directly north of our building.

 

Accuplacer

How do I know what class I tested into?

The best way to interpret your ACCUPLACER scores is by talking with your academic advisor about your college or university’s placement score requirements. 

Can I retake just one section of the Accuplacer?

If needed, you can take only one section of the Accuplacer. It is advised that you discuss with your academic advisor whether this is a good option for you.

When retaking any section of the Accuplacer, the highest score that has not expired will  be kept. Scores expire after 2 years.

Credit for Prior Learning

Utah Valley University provides opportunities for students to earn credit for prior learning (CPL) for skills and abilities they have acquired through work, professional training, military training, and another learning domains. CPL enables students to enrich or accelerate their programs of study. CPL is inclusive and validates the prior learning of students, making education more affordable and accessible.
