Students of the Wasatch Resort Management program (WARM) will gain on-the-job training with the very best; 4 and 5-star, luxury class properties, all within 30 minutes of UVU’s Wasatch Campus.
WARM’s hotel partners pay students a minimum of $16 per hour after tips. Students could earn more depending on the property, the student’s position, prior work experience, and time in the program.
Eligible students will receive $1000 per semester from their hotel employer that can be used to pay tuition or personal expenses.
To be eligible, students must work 18 hours per week in the summer/fall semesters and 35 hours per week over the holiday break/spring semester. They must also be available to work over the holiday break and be in good academic standing; pass classes with a C- or better and meet the 90% attendance requirement.
Throughout the program, students will train within a variety of meaningful roles to ensure comprehensive work experience before graduation.
WARM students will receive cross-training in all the major operational departments of a resort/hotel: front office, uniformed services, housekeeping, food and beverage, and maintenance.
WARM’s hotel partners respect student’s class time and will adjust their assigned work hours accordingly. Students will never have to choose between going to class and working a scheduled shift.
