Digital Transformation Division Update Meeting this Wednesday, December 1

The Dx division is having an update meeting (similiar to a "state of the division/end of the year status meeting") this Wednesday, December 1, at 11:00 am in the Grande Ballroom. An 'upscale buffet' lunch will be served. If you didn't RSVP by last Tuesday (November 23) for in-person, you can still attend virtually.

Power BI Summit in March 2022

There will be a Power BI Summit in March 2022. It will be held virtually and costs $99 per person. Let your supervisor know if you are interested in attending.

IR Holiday Social

December 13 will be our in-person IR Holiday Social. We will be having breakfast and a white elephant gift exchange. The limit for the gift is $10 (although it can certainly be less than that); the more outrageous the gift, the better. (No live animals, extremely large/heavy things that cannot fit in a car, or anything that would violate Title IX.)

This will be our second collaboration day in December, so the sub-department meetings the following week (December 20) have been changed to Teams meetings (although you are still welcome to come to campus that day if you would like).

UVUFit Holiday health challenge

The 12 Days of Wellness Challenge will start December 1, 2021, and through January 15, 2022. Participation in the 12 Days of Wellness Challenge will help keep your mind focused and your body in good health into the New Year. To participate, click on the enrollment link or go to the UVUFit webpage in the Employee Benefits Tab of myUVU. Program instructions will be provided via email prior to December 1. Employees covered under one of UVU’s medical plans can receive points towards their UVUFit Tier 2 Employee Wellness Incentive by participating in the 12 Days of Wellness Challenge. December Healthy Cooking Demonstration - mushrooms

Come learn about the nutrition and molecular gastronomy of cooking with mushrooms! You will learn how to make caramelized mushrooms, umami bomb powder, mushroom rice, and mushroom gravy. This event is free, and dinner is included! Email uvuwellnessprograms@uvu.edu to register.

Campus Store Staff Holiday Sale

The annual staff holiday sale at the new Campus Store will be held on December 2. Shop from 2:00-6:00 pm for 30% off. Santa will arrive at 4:00 pm and stay for the festivities until 6:00 pm. The sale continues the next day with a 25% discount.

Full-Time staff need to use vacation and personal leave by December 23

Full-time employees will lose all personal leave and any vacation hours over 240 on December 31. There are 3 paid holidays in November for Thanksgiving and 6 paid holidays in December for Christmas/New Year's, so be sure to figure that into your time off--plus the leave you will be accruing in the paychecks before the end of 2021.

Part-time staff can make up holiday hours

Part-time staff may work more hours before and/or after holidays with supervisor approval as long as the Payroll time policies are followed (not more than 39 hours per week AND less than 120 hours in November and 112 hours in December).
