Performance Management Trainings and New Staff Competencies

Beginning February 2022, UVU will be offering multiple virtual and in-person classes on new performance development processes. These training sessions will cover the performance development philosophy, the new timeline, and an in-depth review of each of the processes — annual review, goal setting, supervisor review, and midyear check-in.

The classes will introduce new staff competencies that will take effect July 2022 with proficiency evaluations beginning March 2023. These new skill sets will provide the foundation for the upcoming “UVU Develop” workshop series, classes designed to help employees improve their work and performance. A link to the new competencies will be coming soon.

We encourage all UVU staff to register for a class to learn about the important changes coming to performance development. Sign up at UVULearn.

HR Annual Compliance Trainings

All employees are required to complete the following compliance training courses at least once each year:

  • Title IX and Sexual Harassment
  • UVU FERPA Training
  • Workplace Conduct
  • Conflict of Interest
  • UVU Cybersecurity Training

You can access these courses in the “Learning Library” in UVULearn. The direct link for UVULearn is uvu.bridgeapp.com/learner/library, or you can access it in myUVU under the “Human Resources | Performance & Development | UVULearn” tab. The trainings should take approximately two hours in total to complete.

HR is moving to a yearly deadline for current employees to complete these five courses by Monday, February 28, 2022. If you have already taken all five courses since February 28, 2021, you will not need to complete them until the next deadline in 2023. Otherwise, please complete them as soon as possible, and let your supervisor know if you have any questions.

Employees who fail to complete all five courses by the February 28 deadline will be redirected to UVULearn when signing into UVU systems beginning on March 1, 2022. The employee will continue to be redirected until they complete the required trainings. Staff will also be given a “Does Not Meet Expectations” in the “Exceptional Accountability” section on their next performance review, per Policies 633 and 635.

COVID-19 Info Resources for Staff

We are pleased to announce that in continued collaboration and cooperation with the Utah Department of Health and the CDC,free COVID-19 testingwill be expanded to family and friends at UVU starting January 28. The tests provided at this location will be administered by TrueNorth and offered free of charge by the Utah Department of Health. Only PCR tests are available through this service. Results will be available within 24-36 hours.

Students and employees may also utilize the State testing. If you test positive, please complete the COVID-19 Self Reporting Form. It will allow us to assist you and take the necessary actions to protect others within our campus community.

Freerapid testswill continue to be available at UVU for students and employees. Due to a short supply of this type of test, we ask that only those exposed to the virus or experiencing signs of COVID-19 utilize this resource.

Free COVID-19 vaccines are also available to students, employees, and those in their immediate families. We encourage vaccination as the best way to protect you and the community at large.

Please take advantage of these services. We also ask that you continue to follow health and safety guidelines. Stay home if you are sick and stay well!

college Scorecard data update from the College Scorecard team

Today, Secretary Cardona announced a series of revisions and updates deployed to the College Scorecard, including those involving the following data elements:

  • Institution-level earnings data
  • Cumulative loan debt of borrowers by institution
  • Cumulative loan debt of borrowers by field of study; and
  • Repayment rates.

We are working to prepare the earnings data for individual fields of study, which will be made available in a subsequent data release.

Please see our data documentation for more information on how these data are structured in our downloadable data files and application program interface (API). Importantly, the data documentation also includes detailed descriptions of the data generating process as well as information on data limitations for the new data elements.
