Cara O’Sullivan is the director of Utah Valley University’s Policy Office. She is responsible for the editorial quality of university policy and ensuring that the policy development/review process is conducted with transparency and accountability, in alignment with UVU’s shared governance model. The Policy Office team provides editorial and project management services to UVU community members involved in the policy process. In her role, Cara also oversees the Policy Coordinator Committee and the Equity Assessment Committee, which evaluates policy for equity issues and suggests solutions. Cara is keenly interested in the policy applications of the Plain English movement and of equity, inclusion, and diversity principles.

Cara has over 30 years of experience in writing and editing in a variety of settings: corporate, magazine, technical documentation, IT compliance, and higher education.
