The task force will explore, coordinate, and optimize the use of Artificial Intelligence technologies to the benefit of students, faculty, and staff at UVU and work towards enhancing the overall student experience by leveraging AI innovations responsibly, securely, ethically, and inclusively. The task force reports directly to the Provost, with whom it will share regular progress reports.
The task force will explore the following two areas as priority. Additional areas may be identified for future exploration as the task force considers effective strategies.

Speaker Bio:
Barclay Lincoln Burns holds PhDs in Instructional Psychology and Technology from BYU, where he researched communities of learners and the science of learning, and in Strategy and Organizational Economics from the University of Cambridge, where he focused on the neuroscience of decision-making and behaviors of health care organizations that improve patient outcomes. He is a Fellow at the Cambridge Judge Business School. Barclay founded the educational technology company Learning.com, which teaches STEM to millions of K-12 students. He previously served as a Professor of Entrepreneurship at the University of Utah. He currently sits on the board of the Utah Innovation Fund, a VC investing in technology and life sciences from Utah universities. He is a member of Utah's AI Policy Working Group. Barclay founded GenerativeImpact.AI, an advisory firm whose projects include an AI-mediated behavioral health initiative focused on belonging and connection, currently being incubated at Intermountain Health.

Presenter Bio: Caleb Weintraub is an Associate Professor of Painting at the Eskenazi School of Art, Architecture + Design at Indiana University Bloomington. Weintraub, who has employed generative AIs as a sketchbook since 2019, is interested in the ethical aspects of the development and application of digital technologies within the Arts and Humanities. He recently taught a course, "The Art of Artificial Intelligence" that explored how text-to-image AI generators can be used as a tool in the creation of physical art, as opposed to being used as a tool to displace artists, as well as the legal and ethical issues of AI-generated art.

Presenter Bio: David Vuletich is a Managing Director in EAB’s Research Advisory Services and is an expert in both Academic and Administrative Strategy. He provides expert insight into cross-cabinet issues that help institutions set strategy and execute on short and long-term goals. He is responsible for driving value for our partner institutions through decision support, guidance on best practices implementation, and consensus building at the board, cabinet, and senior leadership levels.
David’s expertise in education comes from a background that has included numerous touchpoints with the industry. David worked for the American Institutes for Research as a content leader in standardized testing and was a summer Associate at Huron Consulting. Prior to this he was an Assistant Professor of Biochemistry at SUNY Brockport, where he helped design and launch a new biochemistry major and started an externally funded research program. From these experiences, David has gained an insightful perspective on the challenges facing a variety of stakeholders at education institutions.
