You belong at UVU, and here’s why.

We believe everyone has a place at UVU. Our approach to higher education welcomes all students to come as they are. For more than 75 years, we’ve demonstrated that wolverines explore, play, and thrive no matter where they are in their lives.

Who are the wolverines?

Though they are small, wolverines are fearless and powerful animals. They’ve been known to trek over freezing mountains, fight off grizzly bears, and even hunt moose. Like the animal, our UVU Wolverine community is capable of incredible feats.

UVU Wolverines leave an impact wherever they go. They know how to make a difference by getting involved and staying committed.

What does “come as you are” really mean?

President Astrid S. Tuminez’s invitation is a simple one: “Come as you are.” Her storied past of growing up and overcoming illiteracy in the slums of the Philippines to earning advanced degrees at Harvard and MIT shows the true value of education. Now her mission is to keep higher education accessible to all those who seek it.

When we say “come as you are,” we mean it. If that means you’re the first in your family to attend college, we want you. If that means you left college before you finished with a degree, we want you. If that means you haven’t found your place in the world yet, we want you here.  Our open-admission enrollment allows for anyone to attend, learn, and then graduate from a first-rate academic institution.

We will meet you where you are — not the other way around.

Why UVU?

Our culture is founded on three words: include, engage, and achieve. These core principles are written on the heart of each and every wolverine. The end goal of attending UVU isn't only a diploma, it's continuing the Wolverine Way - explore, play, and thrive.

THE WOLVERINE WAY

Include, engage, and achieve are the three woven threads that create a tight-knit fabric of students, faculty, administrators, alumni, and community members. Without these three words, we would not be where we are now.

It's through these words that UVU is what it is today.

Our open-enrollment policy admits students from all walks of life. Here on campus we have resource centers focused on making sure everyone has access to what they need in order to thrive.

Engaged learning means doing more than turning the pages of a textbook — it’s about getting hands-on experience to complement the theory and help you for the rest of your life. Our classes are filled with dynamic labs, traveling excursions, research studies, and more. Beyond the classroom, there are plenty of ways to get involved on campus.

At UVU, we are only as strong as the person next to us. As a team engaged in meaningful work, we are able to move the needle and make a difference in what is happening around us.

We want everyone who enters these halls to come with their dreams and a passion to work. The culture of UVU is not just to empower, but to embolden students on their path wherever it may lead. UVU’s success is its students’ success.

We encourage students to work with faculty members on projects or to start their own. Only by applying the lessons learned in the classroom and taking them to the world can true knowledge be gained.
