Acceptance to the Program
Applicants are accepted into the Teacher Education Program for Fall and Spring semesters after meeting entrance requirements. An official acceptance notification will be sent by mail approximately 2 weeks following the application deadline.
Upon acceptance, students must attend an education orientation to be approved for registration. Dates and times for orientation will be included in the acceptance letter. Students are responsible for checking their school issued email for official updates and correspondence. Contact information must be current and updated through both the university and the School of Education advising office.

Steps to Apply
Step #1: Complete a Utah Valley University (UVU) Application
If you are not already a current or past student, apply to Utah Valley University.
Once you have been admitted to UVU, return to this page and continue through the steps.

Step #2: Read through the following
- Special Education – ACT Composite 21, English 20, Math 19 OR SAT Critical Read/Math 1000 or better, Critical Reading 450 or better, Mathematics 450 or better, GPA 3.0, all general education and pre-program courses completed with B- or better (or will be completed by program start).
- Students interested in autism studies can learn more here.
- Exam scores required for entrance must be uploaded with your application to be considered for entry into the professional program
- Transcripts from institutions other than UVU must be submitted with this application if they are not already in UVU's system.
- Official transcripts from all colleges or universities previously attended (except UVU) must be submitted to the following address:
